NITO Block Reward and Distribution Model
Discover our reward model, specially designed to balance fairness, equity, and long-term sustainability:
Year 1: 512 NITO per block (total of 269,107,200 NITO).
Year 2: 256 NITO per block (total of 134,553,600 NITO).
Year 3: 128 NITO per block (total of 67,276,800 NITO).
Years 4 to 10: 64 NITO per block, or 33,638,400 NITO per year (total of 235,468,800 NITO).
Years 11 to 20: 32 NITO per block, or 16,819,200 NITO per year (total of 168,192,000 NITO).
Years 21 to 50: 8 NITO per block, or 4,204,800 NITO per year (total of 121,939,200 NITO).
Years 51 to 200: 2 NITO per block, or 1,051,200 NITO per year (total of 157,680,000 NITO).
Future Transition and Potential Adjustments
After this distribution phase, the block reward will decrease from 2 NITO to zero, transitioning miners to a transaction fee-based model.
If transaction fees prove insufficient to maintain network security, a potential solution could involve a soft fork to preserve a reward of 1 NITO per block. This would introduce a moderate annual inflation rate of 0.0455%, generating 525,600 NITO annually. This mechanism would replenish lost coins and sustain miner incentives.
The final decision on implementing such an adjustment will rest with future Nito Core developers, ensuring governance remains adaptable to the network's needs.
